Learning about In Design

To create the title I went back onto Photoshop so I could use the same colour.

I have learnt how to create a text box and put text onto the page. I also created gutters!

This is the picture i have chosen for my college magazine front cover. I had to flip this image horizontally because if i hadn't, my magazine wouldn't of looked very conventional as all the writing would have been on the right hand side.

 

 

This is my cover title, i chose this because it is bright and bold. I used the 3D tool to make it look even more effective. I said in my audience portfolio that i was going to be using mainly blues but on my backround there is a lot of blue therefor my title wouldnt have stood out, also i want to choose a colour that would be the same as something my model was wearing so i chose her bright pink bracelet.

 

 

 

I have no got all the main features for my front cover, A picture, a title, a date, a barcode and a slogan. Next lesson i'm going to work on what's inside the magazine and doing things to intise readers.

 



Learning About Photoshop

Today we learnt how to use Photoshop. I used a picture that I took of my friend for my magazine cover and we messed about with it and learnt how to change and create different things on out picture.

Initial Audience Portfolio Plan

Originally I wanted to do a fashion magazine which is why my initial audience profile was full of fashion but  I wasn't aware that an audience profile was for the people you asked not for the audience you wished to aim your magazine at. So I created a new one so that the results fitted with my audience profile.

Definition Of A Magazine

A magazine is a published article, varying in many different genres, including informations about a certain genre. Take the magazine 'Heat'; Its a very well known magazine specialising in celebrity news, gossip, fashion and beauty tips. Therefore it would not be the magazine you'd chose if you wanted to read about gardening, you'd chose the magazine 'Gardeners World'. 

A magazine is usually published weekly, monthly or bi-monthly. The more expensive they are, the better the quality you get; some magazines are published monthly for five pounds but are collectable and with high gloss pages and more pages. 

About Me

My name is Alexandra Howard. I am an AS media student and this is my first post on my academic blog. I'm really interested in media, I love finding out all about media and learning different topics to do with media. I would love to study media after I finish my A levels and hopefully get a job within media.
